Cultivar epithet:  'Kauai Sunset'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia orthotricha

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 5 to 7 distichous bracts, dark red with a green lip subtended by a wide, dark charcoal line, green tip, pubescent; rachis light yellow; sepals green with a whitish-yellow tip. Vegetation musoid, with pubescent leaves and petioles. Height 1.2 m (3.9 feet).
