Cultivar epithet:  'Pancoastal'

Species/hybrid:  Heliconia hirsuta

Description:  Erect inflorescence; 6 to 8 distichous bracts, red, lighter red on proximal cheek and lip; rachis dark red to maroon, sometimes greenish; sepals yellow with black distal band and white tip; ovary dark green distally, light green below; pedicel
green. Vegetation zingiberoid; inflorescence sometimes on separate leafless shoot. Height 0.8 to 2.4 m (2.5 to 8 feet).
